Health Daily Advice

Editorial Policy

Health Daily Advice is an independent health information website, online since 2017. We publish plain-English guides on mental health, women’s health, phobias and everyday conditions, and free health tools. This page explains how we work.

How we research and write

  • Every article is based on current guidance from recognised health bodies — such as the NHS, NICE, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) — professional medical societies, and peer-reviewed research.
  • We link to our sources, and list the main ones at the end of each article, so you can check them yourself.
  • We explain medical terms in everyday language and say clearly when the evidence is limited, mixed or still changing.
  • We do not give personal medical advice, diagnoses or medicine doses.

Medical review

We do not currently have a medical reviewer. Until we do, every article is checked against the official sources listed on it, and no article is labelled “medically reviewed”. When a qualified health professional reviews an article, their name, qualifications and the date of the review will be shown on that article.

Use of AI and software tools

We may use software, including AI writing assistants, to help research, outline or draft articles. A person checks every article against its sources before it is published, and we are responsible for everything we publish. We never publish invented statistics, quotes or expert opinions.

Keeping content up to date

We review our most-read articles at least once a year and whenever major guidance changes. The date at the top of each article shows when it was last updated.

Advertising and independence

The site is funded by advertising. Ads are chosen and shown by advertising partners such as Google, not by our writers, and advertisers have no say in what we write. We do not accept payment to cover or recommend a product. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled as sponsored.

Our health tools

Our calculators and self-checks run entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent to us. Each tool explains how it works and which guidance it follows. They give general information, not a diagnosis.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please email admin@healthdailyadvice.com with the page address. We check every report and correct confirmed errors promptly. Significant corrections are noted on the article.

Not medical advice

Our content is general information and does not replace advice from a doctor, pharmacist or other qualified health professional. In an emergency call 911 (US), 999 (UK) or 112 (EU). If you are struggling with your mental health, see Get help now.
